Erastus 9 - Monday - Year One

The heroes wake up and follow what appears to be the bandit trail further south. They come across an area with a broken down wagon. Gabriel investigates the wagon and sees gems and possibly some weapons. Gabriel tries to grab this treasure but then finds himself caught in a bear-trap.

As this occurs laughter erupts and the heroes are flanked by a large group of bandits with a female leader. Ceadwy attempts to trick the female leader that he led the heroes to the bandits to recover the reward for the heroes having killed some bandits previously. This ruse at first appears to work and the group of heroes not caught in a bear trap are led by the bandits to discuss the terms of the rewards. The female leader then reveals she was not buying the story and the bandits attack.

The battle was very desperate and looked bleak at times. But because the heroes had given the gem to the fairies the previous night, the fairy creatures helped out in battle and all but vanquished the bandits. Ceadwy fought valiantly, but ultimately fell in battle and was near death. Ceadwy was given some potion which helped, but Ceadwy would need to return to Oleg’s soon if he was to survive.

Daine thanked the fairies for their helped and learned that the fairies are located northwest of where the moonradishes. The fairies also like to hear singing.

Gabriel interrogated the remaining bandit and learned more of the Staglord. He also learned that while the bandits took Svletlana’s ring, Mites then stole the ring and took it southwest into a sycamore tree. The bandit tells the heroes that Staglord’s lair is a fort located on the northwest shore of Tuskwater. This is located far to the south. The password to get in is, "By the bloody bones of St. Gilmorg, who wants to know?”

The heroes get back to Oleg’s with the barely living Ceadwy. At Oleg’s they meet a Erastilian Cleric, Jihad Kapken, who brings both Ceadwy back to full health. Unfortunately, the once unblemished Ceadwy now has a scar on his chest running diagonally down right from his the area of his heart.

Exhausted, the heroes turn in for the night.

Erastus 8 - Sunday - Year One - Into the Forest
Follow that trail

After entering the forest, the group comes across a clearing where moon radishes are growing wild. Satathes soon hears a noise and tells the group to stop. More noises are heard and the group sees dragon heads popping in and out.
A group of reptile people called “Kobolds” appears and shouts, “Thieves.” Ceadwy confounds the Kobolds by trying to convince them that the “thieves” are behind the Kobolds. (For more information see the wiki entry on Kobolds.) Kobolds still attack and the heroes are forced into battle. During the battle two of the heroes mysteriously fall asleep. The heroes win the battle thanks in large part to Ceadwy’s intimidation and despite Setathes falling out of a tree. Gabriel loots the Kobolds and finds 5 gems and two jewels. Daine does an autopsy on the Kobolds and finds that their stomachs were full of moon radishes.

Daine and Gabriel eat the radishes.

Daine sees the trail go further south. Ceadwy then learns the song “Deep South.” Each hero then uses a daily ration and goes to sleep for the rest of the night.

In the middle of the night the fire that we used to set up camp glows and wakes the heroes up. Ceadwy remembers that the forest they are in is famous for stories of fairy magic and creatures. Satathes learns that they are being pranked by fairies and that the heroes can bribe them with gold or shiny objects. Setathes takes one of the gems from Gabriel and puts it near a tree. At the end of the night, the gem is missing.

Erastus 8 - Sunday - Year One - Bokin's Hut
Bokin can't pinky swear

It was an overcast day near Oleg’s Tavern. Before continuing their adventure, Oleg tells the heroes that there is a hermit who sells potions named Bokin. His hut is southeast to their location. Ceadwy learns of the quest to find Oleg’s wife’s, Svletlana’s, ring. The ring is probably somewhere to the south. Ceadwy jokingly asks Oleg if he gave it to another woman but Oleg didn’t know how to take a joke and Ceadwy has promised more performances for the horse Oleg gave him. (For more information on the Quest see “Quest-Svletlana’s Ring”)

After traveling directly east of Oleg’s, the heroes find a hut with empty bottles laying around which have no significance. After entering the hut, they meet a skinny man with gold hair who seems a bit excited and perhaps “touched.” Bokin tells the heroes that bandits forced him to sell them potions at a discount. Bokin also tells them that he needs some fangberries. (For more information see “Quest-Botkin’s Fanberries.”) The heroes get a map of the area directly east of Bokin. Daine notices that Bokin’s right hand pinky finger is missing. The heroes learns that Bokin somehow lost it while defending his mother from his brother. (For more information see “Quest-Bokin’s ‘Brother.’”) Gabriel shows Bokin a picture of dead tree. Bokin says there is a tree like far north and possibly to the west.

After leaving the hut Satathes sees a trail leading into the area where a majority of the heroes had encountered a huge spider.

Erastus 7 - Saturday - Year One
The Bard Joins

The novice heroes, Gabriel, Daine, and Setathus are intrigued and honored to meet the talented Bard, Ceadwy. Ceadwy has traveled into town at Oleg’s Tavern with Vicmorton, Keston, and other guards. Vicmorton explains to the fledgling heroes that their job is to make the stolen lands safe.

Ceadwy bargains with Oleg to lend him a horse if Ceadwy uses his exceptional talents to entertain the tavern every night that Ceadwy is at the tavern. As a token of “good faith” Ceadwy performs that night for free. The sly Ceadwy sneaks a little hat in the corner and earns 4 silver on the side for his musical prowess.

Gabriel and Daine speak with Keston who seems very Gruff.

Gabriel meets the Guard Robern and tells Robern that Gabriel is a follower of Erastil.

Gabriel learns that the leader of the Bandits in the Southlands is known as “Staglord.” Keston tells next to nothing about the Staglord to Gabriel.

Welcome to your Adventure Log!
A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.
